OIL LIGHT!!

Help..I am a new bike owner/driver. Just purchased a 1979 Cx500 Custom. The oil light comes on right away and stays on. There is oil in the bike and there are no leaks and the temperature of the engine is normal. Could this be a faulty sensor? Faulty oil pump?
