| a) Expect gas in several areas to have dried out, and left ´sticky´ or a hard varnish like residue. Glues floats in carb to the bottom of the bowl for example. May stick valve at top of float; also can corrode (rust)some parts in tank etc. etc.(Disassemble and inspect/clean/repair/replace all areas in contact with fuel/fuel fumes north of manifold. b)drain oil c)pop plugs and spray inside of combustion chambers with oil/lubicant (I use MobileOne spray if you can find it; never use MobileOne IN any engine however), but equivalent is OK. Tilt bike for 15 minute periods so that piston top is flat, and soaking/flooding can take place all around top of piston and soak to rings. d) After soaking both piston-tops correctly, and with plugs out, put in 3rd gear and attemp to move bike... moving pistons. Re-apply spray as you do this, as piston locations will very.(Froze? clutch may be wierded out too; but consider serious soaking with Kerosine oil mix). e) Drain H2O, follow manual on else. f) Clean/inspect plugs, jump to a car battery or use a bike battery (doesn´t matter, 12V is 12V). g) with fresh oil (not necessarily the best oil, crank it over with plugs still outside of bike, but clamped to ground. Inspect: spark should be bright, and note smell of gas (at exhaust and plug hole). Once that checks out, reinsert plugs and fire it up, run til warm. Drain oil, discard, replace with decent oil. |
