can´t get my cx500 to go faster than 50mph

My cx500 has always started and idled fine but after the first half hour or so of riding,it always spuders at 50mph and have an awful time trying ride at higher speeds.I have owned it for 4 years and basically have done nothing to it except change oil,oil filter.and air filter. HELP
