So I just happened upon a 79´ CX500 and it was given to me. I emptied out the gas tank and cleaned out the carbs through the top....I did not take it all apart. So last night I got it to start.....and this morning I took it out around the block a few times. It is leakin gas out of the bottom gasket of both carbs as far as I can tell (I am no mechanic) and I have been looking for carb rebuild kits. I have all winter to make this bike good.....I am looking for suggestions on whether or not to just buy new carbs? I really have no idea about engines at all....I have a clymer manual coming in 3 days and I figure I can do this myself......any comments or suggestions?
