Hello, maybe some one can help. I need a good source for parts! I thought my CX500 was in great shape when I bought it but apparently the charging system is inop now. I went thru step by step in the manual to diagnose the root cause and I thought it pointed to the voltage regulator. My local motorcycle shop wanted $230.00 for an original Honda part, which floored me. Then they offer the after market part for $120.00, still outrageous but I had no choice. Well that did not fix the charging problem and now I have an extra voltage regulator. Back to the manual and diagnosing the alternator. The stator seems to check out fine, which only leaves the rotor. The manual states that the rotor can not be tested; it can only be replaced with a known good part to see if the problem goes away. This sucks because removing the rotor/engine fly wheel on a CX engine is a major tear up. So, I have two questions: 1) Where can I get a part number for the rotor/fly wheel and where should I get the part? 2) What is a pulser rotor? This engine also has a small pulser rotor, what is that? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanx, KO. |
