I bought my 2000 VN800 in September of ´03. Since then, the only month that I haven´t ridden it was January. I´m totally addicted. I find myself going out of my way to find winding roads. She corners like a Ducatti, and cruises like a ´73 Coupe DeVille. I have made some minor upgrades. I added a "Mustang" wide, studded seat, for appearance and comfort. Also, I sprung for a set of Dunlop "Cruisemax" whitewalls. They give the bike a nice retro look, and the really grab the road, especially at higher speeds. And speaking of speed, the bike has loads of high-end torque. I took her up to route 684 from Westchester Co. to Putnam Co. (thats New York State) and opened her up real wide, and she didn´t even blink. (I´m reluctant to give numbers, State Troopers have web access too). Also, I love the liquid cooling, especially in traffic. I´ll be heading out to both, Americade and Laconia this year, and I won´t have to shut it down to let her cool off, like my buddy´s Road King... I´m a firm believer in buying American, so anytime Harley or Victory want to come out with a Cruiser this good for around $9000 MSRP, I´ll be happy to buy it as a back up. I´ll never sell my Kawasaki Vulcan 800 Classic.
