The Titanium inlet valves have a protective coating that chips of when the valves are bouncing (working overtime). Once this protective coating is gone the titanium wares away causing the valves to sit higher in the valve seats. This causes your valve clearance to dissapear. Usually once this happens its time to replace your inlet valves and seats.
I know about this as I have just gone through the ordeal with my own bike. Pain in the ass. A pretty good bike other than that.
