Dear Sean, I dont know what 6\\\\\\\\ means? If you a beginner rider adn have not experiance yes teh CRF 230 is a good entry level bike! You should have no problems on clearance but you did not mention weight, If you purchase a bike, you may need a rear spring replacement for teh weight. There is litel to do you front shocks, but sthat for more experianced . also the first and second gears are low for easy learning clutch skills. You can replace the gears for a litel more top end speed as you progress, but it a 230 CRF F bike and it means fun bike not a race bike. Good resale value adn bullit proof as most Hondaas are! I have three in my stable. I ride teh 450-X and am a Hill climber in Vet class A as well a in law enforcement S&R
IF you want to save a dollar or two, look into a used XR400 when you ready to up grade. or go into teh 250-X
See you in the trails
/s/ CAptn Bill
