rear wheel alignment

I recently changed rear wheel bearings on my 87 cr 500. While doing so I changed the sprocket. I purchased a supersprox sprocket which is 2 pieces riveted together. When I spin the wheel, the rivet heads hit the swingarm. I put the old sprocket back on and it clears but only by a little bit-maybe 1/8 of an inch. I am positive my bearings are in their proper placement and all spacers are in exactly like the microfisch shows. Is a 500 sprocket supposed to run that close? Am I missing something? With the chain on, it looks to be running straight and running straight across the chain slider on the swingarm. If anyone has any insight or could possibly send a picture showing the sprocket/swingarm clearance on your bike I would certainly appreciate it.
