It should have a 17 digit frame number on the right hand side of the head stem. The 10th number will designate the year of build. If its a 2, it´s a 2002 model. If its a 5 it´s a 2005 and so on. For the year 2000, it will be a letter, x I think, and goes backwards down the alphabet from there back to 1981. Pre 1981 bikes have only a 10 or 11 digit number, but I don´t know how they work. I was born in 81, so I´m not too familiar with Hondas of that vintage. I hope this helps you.
