Center Stand hits muffler

Center Stand hits muffler

I have a ´80 CM400T, and when I hit a good size bump, my center stand hits my muffler on the left side. I found a rubber bumper on bikebandit.com, but can´t figure out how it fits to keep the stand from hitting. Does anyone know where it´s supposed to go?
