I just picked up my bike on Dec. 29th 2001.. and if you dont push the starter just right it dosent work.. I put a racing battery of my two stroke RD-125 street bike and it starts and runs beautiful.. but if you dont get it started within 5 or 6 tries yes the battery is dead.. run it for a few minuets though and she gets a nice charge
