I love my 1982 CM 250 Custom! |

I´ve had my baby for about 4 years now; I´m the second owner. I bought it for 500 dollars with only 2,000 miles on it! But, it had been stored in a barn with no cover in cold weather and without cleaning it or draining the fluids, etc. So I had to replace a lot... tires, brakes, carbs cleaned, new cables, etc. Since having all that done plus a tune-up, she has run perfectly. I just bought a Haynes manual. My bike has 12,000 miles on it and I wish to work on it myself for the most part from here on. I am hoping for a few suggestions here about things a beginner mechanic should check out and things that are over my head. Also, does anyone know a good place to buy use parts online? I´m also looking for a compact toolkit... any suggestions? I hope to get 80,000 out of this motorcycle.. it´s my first and only thus far. Is it ok to drive on beach sand? I saw someone doing this and it looked fun. Thanks,Bryan |
