they say in this site that new the 87 hurri put out 85hp...well take away 10hp for worn rings and that leaves room for 7 more ponies, and i know where to get them from...the owner said the bike has never had a valve job, so i guess its time to break out the tools and see if any need replacing or adjustment. Another tip for you hurri owners from a old-timer mech..he told me that these bikes need more frequent oil changes about every 3,000 miles especially if you race it! He said that the same oil used to lube the top end is used to lube the transmission. the first time i changed my oil it smelt nasty with a tinge of fuel along with it...thereĀ“s my lost 10hp..!worn rings! But this thing is built like a tank..very reliable...and still runs good for it age...it must have been a screamer when new! oh and please ride smart!
