Hiya, I am the proud owner of a cbr600f4 and could not compliment this bike enough. I bought mine brand new in 2000 and have been a rider my whole life (road and dirt). this was the first bike i ever bought new and having spoken to many people in the last 4 years about my and their 600´s i have heard very little or no complaint, just absoloute praise for such a well balanced and refined bike. Things to look for on your "seebeeare 600". All of what the last post said was spot on the mark, If a bike with an alloy frame has been down on the road "forget it, leave it alone" check handle bar ends, foot peg ends, imperfections in the paint (coz from factory there is none), hold on front brake and slightly rock bike back and forth looking for play in the headstem bearings, grab the rear wheel from the back and wiggle it side to side looking for movement where the swing arm joins the frame, look for leaking front fork seals as an indication of bent forks or hard landings from wheelies. Oil leaks on the engine mean its been apart coz mine dont leak a thing after four years and never been apart. i am ready for a 1000cc class bike now but am holding off on a new Duke coz i just have such a bloody great time on the 600 wherever and whatever i do on it. Everything the last person posted was so true and try too find someone with a bit of knowledge to have a look to. One issue that these bikes have in Australia is that they dont run well on high octane fuel coz they fowl up spark plugs so standard unleaded is the correct recipe (told that by honda Australia). But i think thats just an Aussie problem. All ive done to mine is a Yoshi pipe and some suspension adjust, top speed is 255kph for me (track only, dont stuff around on road) and this little beauty will pop up at about 7000 rpm in first and i have carried it to 180kph in 3rd on the back wheel, thats about my limit. all the best in what you decide and i hope ive been some help. Cheers |
