Correct oil level

I´ve just purchased a 2000 ZX6R ninja.
Can anyone tell me what is the correct oil level in the sight glass the Internet tells me it should be in between the two lines and tells me it should be at the top line reading the two lines as bottom line being empty and top line as being full.
Even photos show me both ?
This is my first road bike I´ve had motocross bikes most of my life and maintained them running like the day I got them I would like to do the same with this one it would be mostly appreciated if anyone could help.
