By the time you are done with this you will be an expert in the carbs on this bike. I have a DOHC so it might be a bit different depending on what you have. 1 pull the seat 2 pull the tank 3 you can but don´t have to loosen the battery bracket 4 loosen the air box behind the carbs. 5 loosen the clamps on all 4 carbs both sides 6 pull the carbs back hard, it should push the air box which you loosened back as well. This should pull the carbs out of the outakes. 7 holding the air box pull the carbs up and toward the outakes again to pull them off of the intakes from the air box. 8 now pull them to the right side (front of bike in front of you). 9 pull the cables off when you can get to them (2 throttle 1 choke) steps 6-8 you can´t be ginger, just get in there with the mission to pull them out. Your problems: overflow in carb 4: you probably have crap in your tank, make sure your fuel filter is clean (this could be your other problem as well). If the tank is rusted you may want to get it etched and sealed. Radiator shops can do it for you, or you can do it yourself (I used a kit called kream). 1:open up the drain in the bottom of the carb (screw on the bottom side), and let some gase flow through it. 2:spray some carb cleaner up through the overflow into the carb (take the hose off if there are still hoses on you carb overflows) 3: close it up and see if that fixed it. 4: if it still leaks you will need to take the bottom of the carb off, pull the float and check to make sure the needle is in good shape. 5: clean it all up with carb cleaner since you have the carbs off you might as well take them appart and clean them thouroughly. YOUR Other problems: 6:If you have a good eye while the carbs are off, look to see if the carbs are synced. The flaps should all be almost closed together when the trottle isn´t pulled and when you pull it they should all open together. (if you are wiery about this you can get a sync tool and do it that way) 7: check the fuel filter 8: Hook the gas line up and make sure gas flows out of all the carbs into the fuel bowls 9: you might also check your plugs make sure the gap is good if they are black your carbs are to rich, if they are white they are to lean.
