High Idle |

I have a ´81 750 custom, I broke the throttle (pull) cable on my way to work. to get home I swapped the cables, using the push as the pull, on my ride home the bike idled really high (3500-4000 rpms) I then parked it for a couple days thinking that the idle problem was because of the swapped throttle cable. But upon installing a new pull cable, a high idle problem persists despite the throttle appearing to return all the way. there is a little slack in the cable, and I can back out the idle adjuster with no effect. it has been 2 years since the carbs were sync´d but the shop I called claimed that the problem is elsewhere in the system. (made sense to me, I didn´t change anything in the system on purpose) So now I tend to think that when the carbs where pulled the first time I accidently changed something about the carburation system, but I don´t know what, anybody have any ideas on things to look for when I go back through and pull the carbs this weekend? thx |
