It is a very good starter bike. But I would recommend something old like the 81 CB for a first bike. My first was a 10 year old 83 Yamaha Maxim 400. Bought for $300, beat up, dropped twice, and sold for $300 the next summer. Otherwise, you´ll end up losing money when you go to sell it if and when you want to upgrade the following year, and you´ll be more upset if and when it get dropped. Unless you have money to burn.
