Good points - best honda inline four engine at the time. Bad points - potentially dangerous bike in emergency situations. Twice this bike put me down the road when braking hard. I´ve heard this from several others that have had this bike. In my opinion it´s the small front tyre and the rake of the forks. The second time I was in ICU for some time. Neither of these incidents involved hitting anything with the bike. Just teh bike would give no warning before it threw you. Thanks mr honda and mr datsun driver! Dangerous wiring of ignition. Constant turning of handlebars (duh!) causes the wiring to break. This caused the engine to cut out when cornering(luckily slowly) in traffic - very stupid design mister honda. Silly placement of timing chain and a weak adjuster. Timing chain is in the middle of the engine. So be prepared to dismantle the engine when the adjust finally goes. The adjuster is partly manuafactured from very cheap looking metal which in my case snapped causing some internal damage. Overall except for the tendancy for the bike to throw the rider I had many a fun time on this bike. Then again; I used to enjoy riding my bicycle down steep hills with playing cards rattling the spokes..weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! Mr honda had a great engine but put a quick fix bike arround it. I think he was concentrating on the V-engined bikes to come instead. Therefore - buy another bike ie cbr600/900,vfr750/800, gpz900, ducati. |
