Bought new 1976 traded on a 400/4. Great looking but only did 112 to 115 (with tail wind) on the flat. Did manage 122mph once on a mile long downhill run. Embarrassed by an old drum brake T500 Suzuki which outrun it ridden solo to 100mph and the sameT500 with a pillion passenger still flew round corners faster than my F1 Honda which grounded EVERYTHING, exhaust, centre stand and prop stand and foot-pegs too. The clutch lever had an on-off action like a trigger, very hard to slip the clutch on getting away AND if you turned the handlebars while riding the clutch pulling away from the kerbside, it suddenly dumped itself hurling you unexpectedly forward. It was totally reliable and safe to ride at speed. 100mph + speeds with your hands on your knees steering with your knees. The frame was rock solid and the trail (self straightening) was generous. I really liked it but it was uncompetitive against the 750 suzukis.
