´02 silly, they made some more than decent changes to the bikes geometry in the early 90´s a new nighthawk is going to handle and feel way better than one from the 80´s. The nighthawks tend to last forever with good maintanance...but 20 years is cutting close to forever...the 80´s bike would work, but when you get good the bike will not corner like a new one, and if you begin to push and abuse the old bike at all it will begin to deteriorate, and fast.
