I have an 84 N.H. and my bike is very fast.I get about 45-50 m.p.g.You may want to check your air filter .My bike ran funny when I rigged up an optional air filter and it ran bad.If you see no visible gas leaks and your exhaust doesnt smell real rich ,I would check the filter.It may need a change, mine did.Hope this helps.
