The 83 650 nighthawk is more than capable of having two people on it giving the fact that the 550 from 83 compared with an 1100cc. I heard from guy´s that ride magnum 1100 that my 83 650 out performed Harley Davidson. Just get used to the weight difference slow for safety reasons you should be fine
