almost every part of the two bikes are compatible. the real only differences are with the exhaust system and the swingarm bushings. the k has a four into four exhaust while the f has a four into one system. that enabled honda to use a chrome chainguard on the f model, but the k chainguard will still bolt up it just wont be as flashy. with the swingarm, the bushings are different. My cb550k shares the same bushings as the cb550f, but there are three different 550k´s. The other two have a three piece bushing seup as opposed to the one piece that is currently on your 550f. the three piece bushing is better however for handling beause it is made out of metal and wont flex the one piece composite that is on there now. I only found this out by comparing parts microphises on both models. You shouldn´t have a problem with anything else not being compatible though. I´ve been building my bike for along time and am constructing a full custom cafe racer complete with a performance 550 motor (bored, custom pistons, cam, head work, valves, etc....). Have fun with your bike because that is what it is all about. Peace.
