hi there, i have ridden on both the versions b4. both are basically the same except that Vtec 2 is just a bit faster and more powerful, that is only if you let open the value @ 7-7.5 RPM. you can feel the g-force, really. but of course the down side is the higher fuel consumption. Taking SG$1.216 for a litre of low grade fuel from Shell, a brand new Vtec 2 can do abt 190-210km on abt SG$10 of fuel whereas the Vtec 1 can do 200-225 (both not eating into reserve fuel). i think the problem u talked abt is the Vtec 2 might not start sometimes right? my frd´s babe did that stunt a few times in as many mths. workshop says it MIGHT be the connection to the batt or simply that the CDI might be lousy. other than that, i guess shld be the digital display showing the fuel ´flow´. its not accurate @ all and sometimes its crazy!. on a whole, i still love to own a Vtec than a bandit.
