Hello, Again the motorcycle has a kick start to try to start it. You wont have to jump start it. The ignition system is seperate, you don´t even need a battery in the motorcycle to run it. That is if everything is working right. The first thing i would do is check for spark. Pull a plug out , have the spark plug wire attached to it.
Have someone hold it to the engine, and crank the engine with the light out. You should see the spark in the dark. Or squirt some starting fluid into the carb intakes and try and start it. If it doesn´t fire at all theres no spark. If you have an ignition problem, the thing that always goes is the stator winding in the engine. Follow the installation instructions for my module to check the stator. Go to ebay and search for cb400 cdi and my user name cdimagician. And you will find the instructions.
