I´ve seen a number of people complaining about poor performance, low rpm´s, can´t get over 55 mph or when you do it falls back down. The bike can have poor performance but still idle fine and even move under its own power. The problem is theres ignition coils in the stator that can break down. Theres a coil between the white and blue wires going to the stator. The resistance should be about 85 ohms. Theres a coil between Pink and Green wires going into the stator. The resistance should be 135 ohms. Theres a coil between the Light Blue and Brown wires. Its resistance should be 207 ohms. If you find that you have no resistance between the Pink and Green wires, the Exciter coil has burned out. I made a mistake in telling people it was called the teaser coil, sorry. But anyways, if the exciter coil fails. The bike will still run and move. Just poor performance. If you find that all your resistances are there You may have a bad CDI. The colors of the wires on my CDI are White,Blue, Lt Blue, Brown, Pink, Yellow, Green, Green, Black /whitestripe. They match up to the CB400´s CDI module. I give a 6 month warranty on my modules. e-mail me if your interested. |
