Hey cory, I had the same problem with my cb400t. It kinda feels like a carb problem but its not. Like I told the other guy on here. theres two circuits in the ignition system. the circuits charge the capacitor in the cdi module. one circuit is refered to in the manuals as the teaser coil in the stator. The problem is either this circuit or the other one gets hot and burns open. The bike will still run and idle just fine but theres no power after 5000 rpm. It wont go faster than 55 mph. Check the resistance of the teaser coil in the stator. Its the pink wires resistance to ground on the engine unplug the cdi to measure the resistance. It should be about 135 ohms. The other coil is the whit and blue wires going into the stator. the resistance on thows wires is going to be about 85 ohms. If you have good resistance, than you may have a bad cdi module, it controls the power coming from the two coils. I make and sell them on ebay. look for the modules and my user name . dontasmebro
