Have owned my 1978 CB 400 for about 10 years, driving very seldon.Put it away for 4 years, son decided he wanted to revive it)To date has spend about 400.00 with new tires, chain, sproket, battery etc.Has taken bike to 3 different mechanics.Bike does still not perform properly.Carbs have been apart by all three, cleaned and set.gas taken taken off, cleaned and coated within.New choke, plugs .It starts welll but as soon as he drives it for about 10 minutes or so it begins to stall. He downshifts but can almost not make it home.AT times it smokes.Whenever he takes it to the bike shop and tells them the symptoms and wahts been done, they all start by doing the carbs and when they test and it semms to run well nothing else is done. My son is a young fellow and I hate to see him spend anymore moneyas it has almost made him broke to date. Can you make any suggestions??He wants to keep the bike as it is very clean but at this point he cannot drive it anywhere. Thank you |
