It seems to me that if someone had a parts donor CB 400T and offered to provide parts to other at a comfortably low price, others who read this group would be buyers. I know I would. I bought a partially disassembed 1978 CB 400T recently and am slowly working my way through systems that clearly must be fixed. Does anyone have opinions as to whether Honda dealer mufflers last longer than aftermarket replacement mufflers? The cross-over baffle, which allows flow from each cylinder to pass out both muffers, is missing the rear slide-in connection on the right side. Also the right side muffer is missing. Oddly, I have an extra set of front pipes which appear normal for bike with about 10,000 miles. Any fair offer will be considered. I´m wondering if a Honda 400 Rebel´s exhaust sytem could be fitted to the CB 400T without excessive conversion effort. Any thoughts? Also, one person thought the 2-speed transmission and torque converter from a Honda 400 Hondamatic could be swapped for our 5-speed manual box. A female family member who feels more comfortable with automatics would be more likely to ride it if that didn´t require learning how to manage a 5-speed. John |
