CB400F Clutch Disassembly |

I´m dismantling the clutch on my ´75 CB400f in order to investigate some persistent clutch drag, and I´ve encountered a part that doesn´t appear in my Clymer´s manual. Beneath the clutch lifter plate (though which the four bolts that tighten the clutch springs pass) there is a round piece with four indentations around the edge, which appears to be attached to the main shaft that runs through the clutch assembly. The Clymer manual says to remove the circlip holding on the outer clutch plate at this point, but the mystery part appears to be resting on top of the circlip, and I can´t see how to remove it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Aaron Heinrich |
