Hi Doug,
My CB400T-II takes 3 quarts, and I use 10W40 (that´s recommended). But don´t go by the numbers, fill about 2 quarts and check the disptick instead to make correct adjustment. Don´t add any synthetic motor oil that contain additives as this bike takes motor oil for engine and transmission.
