Hi all, I got a CB400TI 79 and after fixing a leaky carb, cleaning up front drum brake and replacing a stuck brake cable, finally got to ride it. It had 22K miles on. The engine feels a little tired, It doesn´t really get passed 65mph. I´m seeking advice on how to get the cosmetic aspect to improve, the manifold exhaust pipes are pretty rusted, and brillo-pad barely gets the job done, the rust made little indentations in the metal, and when I start the bike after taking some rust off, the pipes smoke for a while. Also any hint on how to fix a fist-size indentation in a gas tank ? Great to find this club :) I´m in NJ and don´t find so many folks riding a CB400 around here |
