$80 for a title service? Not a chance. Back in ´01 I got a title through Broadway Title Service for my old ´76 Honda CB550k. Cost me every bit of $200 before it was done. In ´06 I tried to use Broadway again, this time for a ´82 Yamaha SR250. It was ´too new´ for them, so I went to ITS. It would have cost me close to $250, but they choked on every niggling little detail and nonsense, sending the paperwork back and forth and back and forth... I finally gave up and sold the bike. Sometimes you´re better off trying to find a titled frame for not-too-much, and just swapping all your parts over. That´s what I´m doing for a ´79 CB400T right now. Shipping costs on a frame is what will kill you, unless you can find a freight carrier, truck transport, or there´s always The Big Grey Dog (I shipped a CB750 frame converted to use a HD Servicar trike axle for $65 from IL to TX). Good luck. |
