well, what´s happened is that the pistons have seized in the cylinders, due either to corrosion or overheating, no amount of slamming of the kick start will result in anything good, most likely the only thing you have accomplished is to bend or weaken the kick start shaft... the engine will need at least a top end rebuild, if you´re lucky a cylinder honing and if not a complete bore and new oversized piston and rings. Guess in the ballpark of about $450 - $600 to get it up and running providing there aren´t any other major issues. If you found it in an Alley, chances are you have no title to it and probably can´t register it for the street anyways... unless you are looking for a resto project I would unload the bike to someone, preferably someone who isn´t going to part it out. drop me an e-mail if you have any more questions and let me know where you are, I may be interested in it if it can be retitled.
