I swapped an old scooter, for one from a mate of mine.

He had no idea how to fix it, I didn´t know much about it.
Fixed in 2 minutes a wire had come out.

So I sorted out the engine, I was 17 at the time, so I smoothed out the ports, ground to valves, cleaned everything inside and out.

Put some Clip ons on, rear sets, racing tyres, I don´t know if I did much to it I got around 125 out of it and the acceleration had come up wonderful.

I altered the tank, and everything else in my money range which wasn´t much.

I did however had to get another engine, the clutch push rod had a habit of knackering the oil seal. I did get one made out of EN8, my mate was a turner at the shipyard I worked at.
That was after the event, but we live and learn.
I cut my teeth on that bike, My brother left me in charge of a James 125 Villiers, while he was somewhere around the world in the Navy. I tried to get that going but I was younger still, he didn´t like it when I sold it for a tenner.

I lost it to a house repossesson when I was on a year long bender after a divorce.

I´d love another, but like rocking horse stuff. Very hard to find nowadays.

Lovely bike,
