| Bought a 98 1100XX in August. Could not find reasonable shipping rate from Escanaba, MI. Left Denver at 6 P.M. Friday night in Sept. Arrived at midnight. Seller delivered bike to me at 7 a.m. next morning. Have had lots of bikes, small and large. Never ridden this type of bike before. Left Escanaba at 9:15 a.m. and rode 565 miles first day. Left Jackson, Missouri at 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning and traveled 738 miles until I got caught in hail storm and 3 rain storms at between Ogalala, NE and Sterling, CO. Stopped for night. Left Sterling at 4:00 a.m. arrived in Colo Springs, CO at 8:00 a.m. 1738 miles total. Averaged 90 to 105 miles an hour. Bought an 01 1100XX after that trip and have taught my 16 year old son and 20 year old daughter to ride. They ride with me all the time (92 750 Nighthawk, 94 V-Max, 98 1100XX, 00 V-Max, 01 1100XX). They like the 1100XX birds the best, and so do I. 98 has Corbin seat, and everyone likes that one the feel of that one the best. Have the Nighthawk and Max´s up for sale, so I can purchase another 1100XX so all three of us can take long trips together. |
