Speed, Damping, Brakes and Bags |

I own a 2003 Blackbird and have not experienced any problems what-so-ever. The bike is designed to go straight and fast with minimal worry. I have driven the bike through sweeping turns at over 110mph and the bike was solid. One must remember the cycle wieghs nearly 600 lbs so braking and steering need to be adjusted accordingly. If you ride lke you are on a 600 you will probably experience many undesireable traits. If you ride it as it was designed it should be pure pleasure. I added a set of Corbin Bags and a Smuggler seat which I feel gives me the ultimate tourer. I have to be aware of the extra width in the rear when I am splitting lanes but so far it hasn´t been a problem. I have driven at 145mph with the bags on and they were not noticable. Corbin says the unofficially tested them at 172mph. Stop expecting track performance from a muscle bike and you will be much happier. |
