I have owned this bike since the spring of 1999. It has incredible acceleration and power. I have taken a 400 mile one-way trip with little discomfort. The engine is extremely smooth. The transmission shifts very positively. 1996 was the last year for the 1000 CBR; this bike still gathers onlookers. The depreciation for this bike is very low; it holds its value well. This is a very satisfying bike to ride unless you travel long distances regularly. I get 50 mpg on the highway which is fantastic. The 5.8 gallon tank will go 290 miles before running dry.
