| Hello I bought this bike new and had drive belt issues at 1400 km there were threads hanging out the side. the dealer cut the threads and adjusted the belt and said everything would be ok. at 8000 km the belt started jumping teeth. it got sent to a different dealer and Yamaha Canada got involved. they said it failed due to improper alignment. and would not cover the cost of the $550 belt I am not sure how but the bike came back to me with a new belt from the dealer and Yamaha did the set up on the new belt. well now at 19000 km the back tire is square and I noticed there are threads comming out of the new belt. so back to the dealer it goes. has anyone else had this problem with this bike? I have checked the belt tension and it is still set to factory spec 10 lb 4 mm deflection. I sure hope Yamaha gets to the bottom of this one or this will be my last Yamaha after riding them for over 30 years. p.s. this bike is used for travel with my wife, she has a 2009 650 custom and never had any issues with it same amout of milage and same driving conditions.
