I have own a 950 Star Touring for the past 5 years and has been an OK bike. Last year at approximately 25,000 km, I started having issues with my drive belt - the dealer couldnĀ“t figure why it was squealing. I had it in the shop several times within a few weeks to have it adjusted. On my last trip (5000km), I had to get a new drive belt put on. All the mechanics I have talk to says that these expensive belt ($500.00) never gets change. Further inspection of the bike revealed a warn and faulty drive sprocket. Now I need a new front and rear drive sprocket and again a new belt which will run me over $2,000.00 with parts and labour. My bike only has 30,000 km on it. I am very disappointed that Yamaha Canada will not do anything for me. I am also very disappointed in the Yamaha product. Anyone else with this problem? |
