hello, I have the 1983 honda cb 1000 custom. the bugs finally got to the front forks. the left fork tube will not seal with the factory oem seals or the all balls seals that I have purchased this year. the bugs have eaten the chrome and now I have a dilemma. I have the idea that i will have the fork tubes re-chromed and might as well do the legs while I am at it. spruce it up a bit. Is there a spec for the fork tube Outer Diameter? So that I don´t haver a over chrome situation making the fork tube od to large. Has anyone had this happen to where you needed to replace the fork tubes or some other measure to get the tubes to seal? any help would be appreciated. all in all my my fork tubes don´t really look that bad, structurally sound and not bent, but they are just worn enough to not seal. help !!!! thank you
