Brake light stays on

2008 KeeWay Hurricane 50 2 stroke the brake light is staying on. opening the handle bar area I unplugged the brake light switches and the light is still on( only with the key on. When the rear brake light switch was still connected putting on the rear brake would dim the lights and kill the engine. Whats the best way to find this problem? with the swiches disconnected the engine runns normally with the brakes on. Dayloongdriver
