I bought a GasGas 2008 ec 300 on 10/6/17 with receipts of $2800 for a top & bottom engine rebuild dated 2/2014. I test rode the bike before i bought it and it went great with no untoward noise from engine. The bike also has other receipts for service of suspension and replacement parts totalling another $1300. the guy struck me as fair dinkum saying he changed engine oil every 3 to 4 rides and i believe him as he gave me 1L of oil that he´d saved up from all the oil changes as the engine takes 900ml. I took the bike for a ride on a dirt trail and it lasted 20mins before the bottom end crank bearing failed. He told me the bike had done apprx 140hrs on the bottom end rebuild with the oil change every 3 rides WTF... Has anyone on this forum had issues with bottom end crank bearings on an 2008 ec 300 ? |
