Hi Folks, I have been riding bikes now for over 25 years, I just recently purchased the 08 V star 250 and I have been wondering if anyone has made any changes to the gearing. I can´t help the feeling that I still have another gear left after I already hit top gear. There is plenty of torque available, it just seems that its geared to low with a 16/45 front to rear sprockets. I have just ordered a 17/43 sprocket set and if i´m not mistaken it should see a 12 mph increase over the cuurent Rpm to speed ratio. by changing the front up 1 and dropping the rear down 2, I shouldn´t have to change the chain right? the bike now has only 3,900 miles all from this summer.
