When I was 14 a friend had a new 1957 Simplex. I thought it was the coolest looking machine around. That was the era of the Cushman Eagle. I would have given a body part to have one, but that was not to be. Now, 63 years later, I found and bought a 57 Simplex. To be sure, it is an unusual contraption and I haven´t begun to figure it out. My first problem is in trying to start the thing I bang my right ankle on the breather housing! The starting lever doesn´t engage until the 5th tooth, so I am not getting a lot out of my strokes. I´m wondering if there is an adjustment to fix this problem. I didn´t start, but it did
