I just bought a 2008 Vulcan 500 LTD. When you drive it, the engine seems to cut out for a split second. The feeling when you´re on the bike is similar to the feeling you´d get if you were driving and quickly pulled in and let go of the clutch while maintaining the throttle at the same position. I´ve got a few ideas. Could it be the carbs, or a dirty fuel filter? (Does this bike even have a fuel filter?) Could it be something with the gas tank lid? You can hear it releasing pressure from the tank for several minutes after you shut it off. Should the tank be fully sealed, or vented some other way? Need to figure out asap, I commute 100 miles each day.
