Bob,
Had the same thing happen to me - bought it used with 600 miles on it. Normal servicing, etc., but later in summer, 2009, coming down out of the mountains from Black Hawk, Colorado, bike just stopped running. It was borderline on needing gas, so another biker brought me some gas - no effect. Had to have it trailered at my cost to the dealer who replaced the fuel pump under warranty. Your story is kind of unnerving though-hope mine was just a one-time thing... Still love the bike...
