SL70 eletrical problem

Anybody out there who can help me solve a real mystery? I can´t seem to get my tail light/brake light working. Here are some of my multimeter numbers. At the tail light it measures less than 1 volt. The battery measured 5.80 volts before I started. I checked the tail light wire up further toward the gas tank. It measured the same, .75 volts. I just replaced the original rectifier with an upgraded one. It has 4 pins. DC current coming out of it is only 2.5 volts. The points and stator look to be brand new. Any ideas would be appreciated.
